PUBLIC STATEMENT — The Foundation for the Rule of Law reaffirms the constitutional responsibility of public media and rejects the statements made by RTVC

The Foundation for the Rule of Law (FEDe. Colombia) rejects the statements disseminated by RTVC in its communiqué of October 15, in which the Foundation is falsely attributed the intention of promoting censorship of that entity. That accusation is unfounded and ignores the fact that our actions fall within the mechanisms of citizen and judicial oversight that the Constitution guarantees to all civil society organizations and citizens in general. Far from promoting censorship, we seek to strengthen the independence, transparency, and accountability of RTVC, which belongs to society, not to the Government of the day.
