Call to the President of the Republic and his Government to respect the rules of the democratic game

Since the elections of March 8, President Gustavo Petro has published on the social network X a series of messages that directly intervene in the electoral debate ahead of the upcoming presidential elections. These actions do not occur in isolation: the Minister of the Interior, Armando Benedetti, has also made public statements interpreting the electoral results as a citizen endorsement of the Government's "social transformations," identifying as beneficiaries those who promote them. Such pronouncements have been challenged as potentially constituting prohibited political participation.
