The Foundation for the Rule of Law went to the Administrative Tribunal of Meta to demand measures against deforestation, illicit crops, extensive cattle ranching and illegal mining in three National Natural Parks that are strategic for the connection between the Andes, the Orinoquía and the Amazon. The action comes amid new alerts about forest loss and seeks to have the authorities adopt immediate controls, ecological restoration measures and a coordinated strategy to halt the deterioration of these protected areas.
