The Foundation for the Rule of Law (FEDe. Colombia) firmly rejects the statements made by Minister of Justice Eduardo Montealegre directed against the President of the Constitutional Court, Justice Jorge Enrique Ibáñez Najar. The demand for his resignation and the personal disqualifications — characterizing him as engaging in "politicking" and placing the Court "at the service of the powerful" — do not constitute a valid exercise of institutional criticism.
