Civil society organizations warn of the democratic and institutional risks of the announcement that a popular consultation will be called by decree without the approval of the Senate of the Republic

We, the undersigned organizations and think tanks, committed to democracy, the rule of law, the defense of the Constitution, human rights, workers' rights, and to meaningful change that leads to social progress and economic growth, express our deep concern over the announcement by the President of the Republic that he will call a national popular consultation by decree, despite the negative — and fully legitimate — opinion of the Senate of the Republic.
