Presidential responsibility is to protect electoral rules and respect institutional independence

The undersigned civil society organizations, coordinated through the Alliance for Democracy, issue a firm call for transparency, respect for electoral rules, and the full guarantee of institutional independence in the electoral process Colombia is preparing to hold on March 8, 2026. The country is heading toward elections that will define its course. At this juncture, confidence in the rules of the game is not a technical or secondary matter: it is the minimum condition for results to be legitimate, verifiable, and accepted by all.
