Rule of Law Monitor
What is the Rule of Law Monitor?
It is a monitoring tool developed by FEDe. Colombia with the support of the National Endowment for Democracy.
What is its objective?
To alert about risks to the Rule of Law and the principles of constitutional democracy in Colombia. In addition to issuing alerts, it formulates observations and recommendations to mitigate detected risks.
What does it monitor?
Constitutional reforms, laws, administrative acts, and public policies that may affect the democratic order.
How does it classify risks?
It uses a traffic light alert system (green, yellow, red) according to the level of risk they pose to democracy and the constitutional order.
What is its ultimate purpose?
To protect democracy and the constitutional order in Colombia through preventive surveillance and proposals for improvement.
